Lecturing and Teaching:
This Traineeship is designed for physicians and researchers who wants to build their career in cardiovascular research in general and cardiovascular outcome research in particular. At the end of the training, trainees will acquire skills of writing extramural grants in cardiovascular outcome research.

Tasks and Timeline:
Module 1: Understanding the huge burden of cardiovascular diseases on morbidity and mortality
This course aims to update their knowledge in keeping with the recent literature and funded work.
Trainees will develop research questions and specific aims. The Mentor will also develop a career plan
with milestones, individually tailored towards each trainees’ needs
Module 2: How to write a strong background, rationale and innovation sections for NIH or other extramural grants
In this course, we will learn the various available tools to gather information on cardiovascular research
published, funded and ongoing. The mentor will teach the skills of exceptional grant writing
Module 3: Writing the methods section of a grant on cardiovascular research
In this course, the trainees will learn about several study designs, randomization, blinding and other
study methods that they will propose in their grant application. The basic biostatistical skills will also be
taught. Additional skills of cardiovascular epidemiology such as clinical trials will also be taught
Module 4: Packaging a fundable application and Editing the
In this course, trainees will learn how to showcase their application. This will include writing a strong
“personal Statement” of a bio sketch as well as other required documents.

This program allows Merit Applications. This program allows merit-based applications for virtual and onsite clinical and research programs. If you are successfully awarded under this category, Trialect or the host mentor will cover the tuition fee only. All applications will be evaluated based on merit. Due to the high level of competition, the chances of being selected under the merit category are quite limited.
