I did a two week fellowship at the Cornea Department of University Magna Graecia of Catanzaro, Italy and I felt it was a nice experience. Prof. Giannaccare is respectful, helpful, encouraging, friendly and a nice mentor! The other doctors and residents are respectful and welcoming as well. The Cornea department is very well equipped with latest diagnostic techniques. I was able to see very interest8ng cornea cases including keratoconus, corneal dystrophies and pellucid marginal degeneration. Many different types of keratoplasties were done there. I was asked to participate in various research projects including writing a very interesting case report. Well, I could say if I got more experience with corneal surgical procedures, it would have been great! Overall, it was nice. I enjoyed my stay there and the university mess is excellent with a lot of vegetarian and different delicious fish options. :) I am glad for doing this fellowship and looking for a steady collaboration. Well, I could say if I got more experience with corneal surgical procedures, it would have been great!
