Epilepsy and Epilepsy Surgery Clinical Traineeship Program

Our epilepsy program at a 300-bed multispecialty hospital in Ahmedabad provides comprehensive care for epilepsy patients, handling around 100 EEGs and 250-300 outpatient visits monthly. Our team comprises two nationally trained epileptologists and four neurotechnologists working around the clock, ensuring high-quality diagnostic and treatment services.

Main Areas of Interest

Our primary focus areas include prolonged video EEG monitoring (3-7 days), continuous EEG monitoring in the ICU, short-term video EEG monitoring (3-24 hours), presurgical evaluations, and intraoperative monitoring (ECoG). We are dedicated to offering advanced and personalized care to epilepsy patients.

Techniques You Will Learn

We employ a variety of techniques, including prolonged and continuous video EEG monitoring, intraoperative ECoG, and advanced MRI post-processing. Our program also includes MRI-PET coregistration, providing a detailed analysis for presurgical evaluations.

Curriculum

Our curriculum covers all aspects of epilepsy management, including advanced EEG techniques, MRI post-processing, and presurgical evaluations. Observers will have the opportunity to learn MRI-PET coregistration and participate in institutional presurgical meetings, gaining hands-on experience in a comprehensive epilepsy care setting.

Accommodation

In-house accommodation may be available for female observers, subject to availability, as we have limited space in the ladies' hostel. Alternatively, observers can find nearby accommodation within 3-5 km of the hospital, typically costing $300-400 per month. Ahmedabad is a relatively safe city, providing a comfortable living environment for observers.

This program allows Merit Applications. If you successfully are awarded a merit application - Trialect will take care of all bench and service fees, but you will have to take care of travel and accommodation. All applications will be scrutinized under the merit category. Considering 50 million health professionals around the world, the chances of getting selected under the merit category would be very low.
