4-12 weeks curriculum

Fellows will be supported to settle down into their new environment (find appropriate accommodation, locate amenities, etc.).

A desk space will be allocated for resident and fellows. Full induction (safety, surgery practices, personal welfare, etc.) will be provided by myself.

I will arrange an initial meeting with the fellow to discuss the objectives of the training.

The fellow will be fully trained to all activities of the Department. They will be able to engage with me (supervisor) and other members of the group in different surgical procedures. They will also engaged in clinical research and write a manuscript during their stay.

Every week they will attend the meetings with all the medical team. We receive patients, whom we examine and decide on the therapeutic management.

There is in the Plastic Reconstrutive and Aesthetic Unit 55 conventionna hospital beds, 10 Ambulatory beds. We operate everyday between 20 and 30 patients. We also operate 15 patients everyday with local anesthesia.

In the Burn Center we have 15 beds for critical burns injury and 2 surgery rooms. We take care of patients suffering from acute and sequelae burns.

In total, we perform nearly 10,000 surgical procedure each year.

Fellows can also come with us in medical and post operative consultation.

The fellow will be given opportunity to partake in group meetings and other academic activities within the School and the University, including attending workshops, conferences, e.t.c They will also be encouraged to present their work orally at a group meeting at least once before they complete their visit.

Towards the end of the training I will have a meeting with the fellow to discuss plans to publish their clinical work (if enough data collected) or disseminate their findings in a future conference.

I am also a research associate in an Immunology unit. If they wish, fellows can also meet other research students in INSERM.

All throughout the training any peculiar challenges or specific requests of a fellow will be fully considered to ensure a responsive, relevant and adequate training plan is developed for them.
