General Area of Interest for this RFP: Projects that will be considered for Pfizer support will focus on increasing healthcare professional understanding and competence in one or more of the following areas:
• Addressing educational gaps in community oncology regarding the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with ALK-positive metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (ALK+ mNSCLC).
• Improving outcomes of ALK inhibitor-based treatments through effective management of adverse events, including timely identification, dose modifications and other innovative strategies.
• Assessing and managing specific adverse events related to ALK tyrosine kinase inhibitors (ALK TKIs): for example, weight gain, neurocognitive effects and other AEs of significance.
• Enhancing therapy management strategies for ALK inhibitors through collaboration between experts in academic centers and community oncologists.
• Preparing patients and care partners for ALK inhibitor therapy to evaluate tolerability and implement appropriate therapy management regimens.
• Optimizing collaboration and coordination of care among multidisciplinary teams, including pharmacists, nurses, and other allied health providers, during ALK inhibitor therapy.
Examples of educational formats that will be considered under this RFP include but are not limited to:
• Developing educational initiatives that empower patients to identify and actively report ALK TKI-related adverse events, thereby enhancing the accuracy and effectiveness of adverse event management and promoting treatment adherence.
• Creating podcasts and resources (digital and/or print) for patients and/or the allied healthcare team.
• Education on ALK TKI using online platforms with downloadable resources and reference tools for HCPs and/or patients can be explored.
