Introduction
The placement is a practical appointment, based in a community setting focusing on public health field work- setting based education in Ratnapura Medical Officer Health Area, Ratnapura District. If required fellow will have access to the provincial hospital (1440 bed strength) and basic sciences at the medical faculty.Placement will focus on providing field work-setting based education on; Maternal and Child health care,Estate Health in tea & rubber plantations, Environmental and Occupational Health, Control of non-communicable and communicable diseases, by working with field pubic health care team.

Logistics
Period- 4-12 weeks
Fellows will be supported to settle down into their new environment (find appropriate accommodation and local amenities). Desk space will be allocated. All field visits will be arranged to the need of the fellow and a member of the university team will accompany and will also help in translation Full induction (safety,personal welfare) will be provided by the University’s designated staff and by myself.The fellow will be given the opportunity to actively participate in academic activities in the community and within the Medical School and the University, including attending workshops, conferences etc.Throughout the training, any challenges or specific requests of a fellow will be favorably considered to ensure an adequate training to the satisfaction of the fellow.Students will require immunization against Covid 19 before travel, and support will be extended in obtaining visa to visit Sri Lanka.
