Main Areas of Interest
The main research areas of our group are:
-Our work is devoted to better understand how perinatal chemical exposures affect brain development and neuroplasticity with a focus on neuronal networks underlying a range of social behaviors (parental behavior, social play, reproductive behaviors) in males and females. We use an array of techniques, from molecular biology and biochemistry to histology and behavior in several models (zebrafish, birds, rodents and humans).

Curriculum
4-8 weeks curriculum
We tailor our program to what the research fellow is wanting to focus on with regards to theme and techniques. In general, the fellow will be fully trained to run techniques independently. They will be able to engage with the supervisors and members of the laboratory to discuss any aspects of the general running of the laboratory or specific protocols that they require clarifications on. They will also be trained in how to analyze and interpret their data. We will arrange a weekly or bi-weekly meeting with the fellow to discuss and reflect on their progress and decide the next set of experiments based on data generated. A fellow must keep adequate and accurate records of their work using the laboratory book provided.
The fellow will be given opportunity to partake in research group meetings and other academic activities within the team, research institute and university. They will also be encouraged to present their work orally at a research group meeting at least once before they complete their visit.
Towards the end of the training a meeting with the fellow will discuss plans to publish their work (if enough data collected as part of a larger project) or disseminate their findings in a future conference. They will also be assisted to identify existing or future opportunities, globally or within their original work environment, that they are eligible for and are interested in.
Throughout the training any challenges or specific requests of a fellow will be fully considered to ensure a considerate, responsive, and exciting research environment is available for them. Fellows will be helped to settle into their new environment (find appropriate accommodation, locate amenities, etc) and have appropriate onsite safety training (safety, laboratory practices, personal welfare, etc). A desk space with a desktop computer will be allocated. Prior to the move we will communicate with the fellow to discuss the goals of the research training to ensure that training will meet expectations. Experimental plans with realistic timelines will then be decided.
Accommodation
Guest house/accommodation is often available near the lab or close to public transit. Options for accommodation can be found on AirBnB or Booking.com. Rennes has a metro line that has a stop at the laboratory increasing options for accommodation locations. The university also has student housing that may be available, depending on the time of year. This program allows Merit Applications. This program allows merit-based applications for virtual and onsite clinical and research programs. If you are successfully awarded under this category, Trialect or the host mentor will cover the tuition fee only. All applications will be evaluated based on merit. Due to the high level of competition, the chances of being selected under the merit category are quite limited.
