4-12 weeks curriculum
Fellows will be supported to settle down into their new environment (find appropriate accommodation and locate amenities at their expense). An initial meeting with the fellow will be arranged to discuss the objectives of the training. Full induction (safety, practices, personal welfare) will be informed by our staff.
The fellow will be fully appraised of all activities of the Department. They will be able to engage with me (supervisor) and other group members in different procedures. Depending on their interest, they will also be involved in clinical research and write a manuscript during their stay.
The fellow will be allowed to participate in group meetings and other academic activities within the School and the University, including attending workshops, conferences, etc. They will also be encouraged to present their work orally at a group meeting at least once before completing their visit.
Towards the end of the training, I will meet with the fellow to discuss plans to publish their clinical work (if enough data is collected) or disseminate their findings at a future conference.
During the training period, the applicant is also taken into the exercise program of the AGE (German Society of Endoscopic Surgery as a part of the German Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a certificate at the end of period) as well as of the ESGE (European Society For Gynecological Endoscopy) with a certificate stating that all the necessary practical experience has been made to start the application as bachelor). - The above clause is only applicable to the candidates who have a 12-week program in Gynaecological Surgery and not in Brust Surgery! These 12 weeks can also be done in separate parts. For example, thrice four weeks, once four weeks, and once eight weeks.)

As the University Hospital for Gynecology, Pius-Hospital Oldenburg, University Medicine Oldenburg, is the largest Gynecological surgical unit in a radius of 100 kilometers, a high amount of surgeries are done. Weekly, at least 50 surgeries are performed.
All fellows can have a hand-on-training and assist in the operating theatre. Following German law, they are not allowed to manage patients without a home-based specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology. There are ten instructors on the level of specialized gynecological surgeon and, in the meantime, specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology to take care of during the training period. At the end of the training period, certificates from the AGE, ESGE, and the local university hospital can be obtained.

This program allows Merit Applications. This program allows merit-based applications for virtual and onsite clinical and research programs. If you are successfully awarded under this category, Trialect or the host mentor will cover the tuition fee only. All applications will be evaluated based on merit. Due to the high level of competition, the chances of being selected under the merit category are quite limited.
