This 6-week program will study stem cells and cancer stem cell biomarkers using fluorescence microscopy and tissue array slides with the scope of image data analysis.

Tissue Array Analysis: Participants will explore tissue array techniques, which allow for the simultaneous analysis of multiple tissue samples, facilitating the detection of stem cell biomarkers across various tissue types.
Molecular Analysis: Fellows will engage in molecular techniques to study the genetic and protein expression patterns related to stem cell biomarkers.
Immunofluorescence Assays: This technique will enable the identification and localization of biomarkers in tissues using fluorescence-tagged antibodies, helping to visualize the distribution of cancer stem cells.

Techniques You Will Learn

Tissue array, molecular analysis, immunofluorescence assay, etc.

Tissue Array: The use of this technique will allow for high-throughput analysis of biomarkers in various cancer tissues, enhancing diagnostic and research capabilities.
Molecular Analysis: Includes methods like PCR, Western blotting, and DNA/RNA extraction to study genetic changes associated with cancer stem cells.
Immunofluorescence Assay: Fellows will learn how to label and track cancer stem cell biomarkers in tissue sections, crucial for cancer diagnosis and research.

Curriculum

6-week in-person laboratory study. Details will be provided to the trainees.

This program allows Merit Applications. This program allows merit-based applications for virtual and onsite clinical and research programs. If you are successfully awarded under this category, Trialect or the host mentor will cover the tuition fee only. All applications will be evaluated based on merit. Due to the high level of competition, the chances of being selected under the merit category are quite limited.
