Tasks and Timeline:
Module 1: The Stem Cell Concept
This course will give you an overview of stem cell types and will introduce you to central terms, concepts
and definitions.
Module 2: Human Development and Stem Cells
In this course, you will learn how human embryos develop and why it is important to be familiar with
developmental biology to understand stem cells.
Module 3: Adult Stem Cells
This course will teach you about adult (tissue) stem cells that serve to regenerate the cells in our organs
under physiological conditions.
Module 4: Current Aspects of Regenerative Medicine
This course will give you an overview of the most important human tissues that can be affected by loss
and degeneration as well as an introduction into tissue engineering.
Module 5: Embryonic Stem Cells and induced pluripotent stem cells
In this course, you will learn about pluripotent stem cells, including the history of their discovery, their
ethical implications, chances and limitations.
Module 6: The Molecular Control of Cell Differentiation
In this course, you will learn the basic molecular aspects of gene regulation that has a bearing on cell
commitment, differentiation and the cell cycle.

This program allows Merit Applications. This program allows merit-based applications for virtual and onsite clinical and research programs.
