Fellowship Program Curriculum (6-12 weeks)
Induction and Orientation:
Support provided to help fellows settle comfortably into their new environment, including assistance with accommodation, local amenities, and registration at the CNR-ICB guest register.
Allocation of a dedicated workspace.
Comprehensive induction covering safety, laboratory practices, and personal welfare, provided by university staff and the supervisor.
Training and Experimentation:
Initial meeting to outline training objectives and establish experimental plans with realistic timelines.
Full practical training on each experimental technique, including supervised initial runs.
Continuous support and interaction with the supervisor and lab members for protocol clarification, laboratory procedures, and data interpretation.
Maintenance of detailed and accurate records in a provided laboratory notebook.
Progress Monitoring:
Scheduled weekly or bi-weekly meetings to discuss progress, reflect on outcomes, and plan subsequent experiments based on generated data.
Academic and Professional Development:
Active participation in research group meetings and relevant academic activities within the school and university.
Encouragement to present research findings orally at a research group meeting before the fellowship concludes.
Attendance at targeted workshops on research career development topics such as manuscript writing, grant writing, and networking.
Dissemination and Future Planning:
Guidance provided for publishing research findings or presenting at conferences.
Individual support in identifying future professional or research opportunities enabled by the fellowship training, and integrating acquired skills into further career paths.
Personalized Support:
Throughout the fellowship, any unique challenges or specific requests will be fully considered to ensure a personalized, responsive, and effective training experience.
