Significantly increasing the critical mass of researchers in the field of Alzheimer's disease and related diseases is an important issue in order to effectively combat these diseases. It is with this objective that the Alzheimer's Foundation is launching its call for projects "Young Researchers Grant 2025" to enable young researchers with scientific or medical training to continue their research work on Alzheimer's disease and related diseases in a French public laboratory, with the aim of strengthening their professional career and obtaining permanent academic employment in France.
The funding granted must cover the applicant's full-time salary, for a maximum of 3 years and up to a maximum of €200,000 per selected candidate.
A video in the form of a "researcher portrait" is also produced to highlight the winner's career and research project. This content provides valuable visibility, highlighting not only the researcher's work but also his or her commitment to the fight against Alzheimer's disease.
The candidate must present a research project of maximum 3 years, which may be related to basic, clinical or translational research, or to human and social sciences. The research contribution must be in the fields of Alzheimer's disease, Lewy body dementia, Parkinsonian dementia, frontotemporal dementia, corticobasal syndrome, progressive supranuclear palsy, primary progressive aphasias (all types) and posterior cortical atrophy. Given the importance of sex/gender in these fields, this factor should be evaluated while addressing the main scientific question.
Previous experience in Alzheimer's disease and related diseases is not mandatory, but knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases will be appreciated. His/her technical and/or methodological skills should enrich those of the host team and he/she should have access to all the resources necessary for his/her project. The Alzheimer's Foundation strongly encourages open science and the participation of patients and the public in research projects.
