We need to recruit a dynamic person who is able to interact with different research groups to discuss molecular results, apply engineering tools, and analyze data with bioinformatics approaches. The “Assegnista” will be involved in both the production of scRNA-seq and spatial libraries and the analysis of the results produced to assess which cells and how they are involved in changes associated with the development of ageing and fatigue. In addition, the “Assegnista” will be involved in data integration using machine learning approaches in collaboration with Prof. Zhang of the Lehigh University. For these reasons the “Assegnista” should have MD in biological fields with some bioinformatic skills. This project will take advantage of the facilities of the Department of Biology (the sequencing facility to sequence prepared scRNA-seq libraries, the microarray facility to prepare scRNA-seq and spatial RNA seq libraries and confirm differentially expressed genes in single cells and the sorting facility to enrich for specific cell populations based on scRNA-seq results). This structure is completely in line with the description of Project of Excellence of the Department of Biology (University of Padova). We will use facilities within the department to produce quantitative data that will be integrated to describe cell-cell interactions and alterations associated with studied pathologies, also using complex algorithms based on machine learning approaches.
Interested persons should have experience in molecular biology techniques and in cell culture.
Moreover it should be useful to have experience in the usage of R ambient for sequencing data analysis. This is not mandatory.
If interested persons have already experience in the field of single cell RNA sequencing will be considered positively
