The Hackett Memorial Trust Fund was established in 1963 in memory of Frederick Hackett, Member of Parliament. In 2005 the funds were transferred to the Neurological Foundation for the allocation of grants in collaboration with the Clinical Head of the Neurosurgical Department of Auckland Hospital.
Purpose
These grants are intended to promote and encourage the study and practice of neurosurgery, through funding to attend conferences, meetings, and training.
Scope
• Specialists working within the field of neurosurgery at approved research institutions in New Zealand or internationally
• Support to attend a conference or training course, or visit a laboratory or clinic for a specified purpose relevant to the study and practice of neurosurgery
• Practicing clinicians and registrars in neurosurgery
• Non-medical specialists, including nurse specialists
