IADR Sustainability in Oral Health’ Research Award

International Association for Dental Research(IADR)

The Oral Health Research Group of the IADR is inviting applications for a group-sponsored award for research into the promotion of sustainability in oral health. The purpose of the award is to recognize a body of meritorious research by a member of the IADR Oral Health Research Group.

Research Topic:

Submissions must represent original research in the promotion of sustainability in oral health in the areas of prevention, evidence-based activities, and therapies that promote oral health. This includes a broad array of basic, clinical, behavioral and applied studies related to:
Strategies for behavior change to encourage sustainability, for dental health care professionals in-office or patients at home; interdisciplinary approaches to integrating sustainability into oral health; innovative methods to encourage sustainability in the promotion of wellness/disease prevention; ethics and quality assurance; evidence-based sustainability; understanding and promotion of sustainability; clinical efficacy of sustainable oral hygiene measures.

Award:

A certificate of recognition and one monetary award in the amount of $2,000 will be made. This award is intended to provide travel and other support related to attending the IADR General Session which includes supporting and participating in the Oral Health Research Business Group meeting or to be used toward further research activities.

Selection:

A committee with an appointed chair or co-chairs, the President, President elect, and Immediate Past President of the Group will select the winner. Haleon or Haleon representatives will not be part of the review and selection committee. The award recipient will be formally announced during the business meeting of the Oral Health Research Group at the 2025 IADR General Session & Exhibition and honored during the reception that follows. Researchers who are currently under contract with Haleon are not eligible to participate. The committee may elect not to present an award if there is not an applicant who has conducted meritorious research in sustainability in oral health.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicant must be a member of the IADR Oral Health Research Group.
Applicant must have an accepted abstract in Oral Health Research Group being presented at the IADR General Session & Exhibition.
Applications must include a curriculum vitae that provides supporting evidence that the applicant has conducted original research.
