The Health Foundation grants grants to projects at the intersection of social and health areas – including health inequality and prevention. These can include research and experiments as well as projects with an educational purpose.
We also grant funding for projects regarding housing for the elderly or disabled. These can include model projects, research and specific improvements to benefit a group of citizens.
The foundation only supports Danish organizations and institutions. Support is not provided to individuals who apply for private assistance.
What amount can be applied for?
We process applications of DKK 25,000 and above, however, research applications must be at least DKK 50,000.
There is no limit to how large an application can be, but the average grant from the Danish Health Fund is approximately DKK 350,000-400,000.
In the 'Other' category, we can in special cases grant a larger amount. If you have a project that you believe has extraordinary potential and for which you would like to apply for a larger grant, you are welcome to write to us and tell us more about it.
We primarily cover salary costs, but it is also possible to apply for funds for other project-related expenses.
We cover overhead up to 20%.
Grants for overhead always depend on a specific assessment.
The budget for the entire project must be stated in the application.
The Danish Health Foundation supports research institutions, NGOs, municipalities, regions and government institutions.
We receive research applications from both younger and experienced researchers, including prospective PhD students, who must submit a CV or a letter of commitment from their main supervisor.
If the application concerns a research year project for a student, the supervisor must be the main applicant.
