This scholarship is to enable New Zealanders to study international relationships or social and economic conditions at a university overseas. Candidates will be planning to study at Masters or PhD level.
The funds for this scholarship are provided by the income from a bequest made in 1951 by Isabel Evelyn Spencer Watson to the University of New Zealand. The scholarship is a memorial to her nephew, Clement Gordon Watson.
At least one scholarship is awarded annually, with a value of normally $12,000 per year for up to two years for Masters and up to three years for a PhD.
