In 2011, CAN established an award to recognize successful prevention efforts in the areas of alcohol, drugs, doping, tobacco and gambling (ANDTS).
The award is presented every two years and consists of two different categories: Preventer of the Year and Preventive Municipality of the Year.
The Preventer of the Year award is given to a person or organization that has in an exemplary manner initiated, inspired, implemented, operated or managed an ANDTS prevention effort at a local, regional, national or international level. The award can be awarded to a maximum of two winners and consists of a sum of SEK 50,000, which can be adjusted by the CAN board.
Preventive Municipality of the Year is a walking award given to a municipality that has successfully initiated, inspired, implemented, operated or managed an ANDTS prevention effort at a local level. CAN selects three municipalities based on the Prevention Index, after which the jury selects the winning municipality from these three.
The prize, in addition to the honor, consists of a work of art created by artist Nina Svensson from Stockholm.
Describe how the organization/person has worked with the success factors above (must be able to be confirmed by the nominee in documentation upon request) and justify why the nominee in particular is worthy of the Preventer of the Year award!
This award is given for preventive efforts in the area of alcohol, drugs, tobacco and doping. Organizations/individuals represented on the jury cannot be nominated for an award. The jury reserves the right not to award an award in a category if the nominated contributions are too few or do not meet the quality requirements. The jury sees the nominations as an important basis but will also feel free to choose from among preventers who have not been nominated. The jury's decision cannot be appealed.
