Scottish Dementia Research Consortium

The Alzheimer Scotland Student Research Programme will fund two Masters-level research projects relating to the SDRC theme of Living with Dementia. We are particularly interested in research areas that are under-served and/or encompasses innovative approaches to research. Areas of interest to the Selection Panel are as follows, but applications are not limited to these areas:

• Advanced dementia and late disease
• Unmet needs
• Carers’ experience
• Co-morbidities
• Women’s health
• The role of faith and religion

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility Criteria

This award is for new studentships only. We will not fund a project that has already commenced.
Applications must be for a Masters-level project. We will only accept applications that have a focus on conducting research, as opposed to taught Masters.
Applications must come from the research institution hosting the studentship, not individual students themselves. We will ask in the application if the institution already has a student in mind, or if recruitment will take place once the award is made
The lead institution making the application must be based in Scotland. This can be a Scottish academic institution, NHS Scotland site or any other formally recognised research institution. We will permit collaborations with institutions outside Scotland.
The Student Programme is open to UK and international students. However, Alzheimer Scotland will only pay fees at the UK tuition fee rate.
Funding is for a one-year full time project. Projects must be completed within the one year timeframe. There will be no scope for cost extensions.
