The objective of the AGA Research Foundation Student Abstract Award is to stimulate interest in gastroenterology and hepatology research careers by providing recognition to graduate students, medical students or residents (residents up to postgraduate year three) with exceptional abstracts accepted by AGA for presentation at DDW. The top scoring abstract is designated the Student Abstract of the Year.
This $500 travel award supports recipients who are graduate students, medical students or medical residents (residents up to postgraduate year three) giving abstract-based oral or poster presentations at Digestive Disease Week® (DDW). The top scoring abstract will be designated the Student Abstract of the Year and receive a $1,000 award. Four recipients will receive the AGA–Eric Esrailian Student Abstract Prize and four recipients will receive the AGA–Radhika Srinivasan Student Abstract Prize.
Applicants who have received any similar travel award to attend DDW using the same abstract submitted to AGA are ineligible for consideration.
Recipients will be selected based on the significance of the research, clarity of the abstract and contribution of the applicant.
A selection committee comprising members of the AGA Institute Research Awards Panel will review applications and select the award recipients.
The application deadline is Feb. 22, 2024. Applications must be submitted through the AGA Grants Management System and will not be accepted via mail, fax or email.
